In 1950 Linda Brown was denied attendance to Topeka, Kansas , neighborhood elementary school because Kansas law required African american students to attend a separate school from white children. Oliver brown the father of Linda Brown claimed that her denied access to the school violated her constitutional rights under the fourteenth amendment ,and the case was brought to the supreme court.
