Jesse Boyd Elementary School~~~ May 6, 2017
Greetings from Dr. Rose
Greetings from Jesse Boyd where we are battling like a bulldog and going for gold this school year while inspiring and equipping our students for success. It is hard to believe that it is already May. Last week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week. Our PTSO, headed by TAW chair Sarah Zemp, orchestrated an amazing week for our faculty and staff. Many parents donated time, services, and/or food. It was a great week. The teachers had duty free lunch all week and as I assisted our parents in monitoring our students during lunch, I suddenly remembered that first week of school and helping with lunch duty. It really is amazing how much our students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and even physically in one school year. As we start thinking about the close of school in three short weeks, I wanted to thank you again for sharing your student with us here at JBE. I tell anyone who will listen that we have the most amazing students and I am equipped and inspired by them everyday as much if not more than I equip and inspire them.
Going for Gold
We had 106 students earn their GOLD MEDAL at Friday's coffeehouse. We were incredibly excited for those students who have worked hard to accomplish this task. We certainly want each of our students to earn gold; however, we do not give a gold medal to just any student. Students have goals and must earn that gold medal. We have only two more coffeehouses where Gold Medals will be given out- May 12th and May 25th. Please encourage your students to keep working towards their goal (and GOLD). Contact your student's teacher if you are unsure of what work they have left to do to complete the requirements.
Registration for Kindergarten
We are registering kindergarten students for next year right now. If you have a student who will be in kindergarten next year or you have a friend, neighbor, or relative who will have a student in 5K next year, please let them know to come to school and get that registration process started. Our 5K play group will be meeting for the first time next Saturday, May 13th. For more information about kindergarten registration or playgroup, please contact us here at the school.
Infosnap
As you all know, Spartanburg School District 7 started using an online registration system last school year called INFOSNAP. Each year, you will need to go into that system and make any updates or necessary changes. A letter will be going home with your student next week about the process. Please look for that letter and begin the process. Class placement cards will not be send out this summer until your INFOSNAP has been submitted. Should you need assistance with the process, please call our main office.
Here is a video (with some JBE stars) to help with the system...IT's A SNAP! Click HERE for the video.
