First Grade at O.C.T.

February 1-5

Highlight of the Week

First Graders loved getting to watch the O.C. Taylor Talent Show. It has been a time honored tradition for 3rd-5th Graders for many years. We cannot wait until the day we can watch some of the Class of 2027 up there on stage. Your child has 2 years to develop their talent! :)

App of the Week

Book Creator The simple user interface helps to engage kids in storytelling as they create e-books using their own photos, drawings, audio (including their own voice), video, and text. First-time users ( and even parents!) can create a book.

Valentine's Reminder

Please send Valentine's Boxes to school on Friday, February 5th. Each child needs to decorate/design a box at home. Shoeboxes work great because you can wrap the lid separately, and it can be taken off to place the cards inside. They are also sturdy and easy to place around the room. There is no official design. The box can be decorated any way you choose. This is not a contest. The only requirement is that the child's name is visible and easy to read so that when the children are distributing their valentines they are placed in the correct box.

Valentines may come to school starting, Monday, Feb. 8th. All valentines must be here by Thurs. Feb. 11th. Candy and/or treats can be attached to cards. Please let me know if you have any questions!
