4th Grade Family Dinner
Attention Families!
This Spring HSB will be hosting grade level family dinners on Friday evenings. The first one will be next Friday 1/22 from 5-7p in the East cafeteria. HSB will provide gyros, and families can bring desserts. This is a time for parents to eat and chat with teachers and administrators. Be sure to mark your calendars!
You can see all activities on the activity calendar on our website under Academics> Calendar> Activity Calendar.
Please join us on Friday, January 22nd at 5:00 pm for dinner with the 4th grade teachers, students, and parents. We hope to see everyone there!

MLK Jr. Day-No School!
PTO meeting
Next Tuesday 1/19 at 5:45p we will have an informational PTO meeting. We will discuss the mid-year survey, the Comprehensive Needs Assessment, Parent Conferences, Spring testing, College Board, and more. Please plan to be there!

School-wide Spelling Bee Winners!
We would like to recognize our winner and runner-up for the spelling bee that was conducted on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
First Place: Mehdi Mirza (8th Grade-Air Force Academy)
Runner Up: Rumaisa Ahmed (5th Grade-John Hopkins)
Mehdi Mirza will advance to the regional spelling bee and compete against other winning students from schools throughout the Dallas area. Congratulations for all your hard work and dedication!
Spring GT Testing
2014-15 TEA School Report Card
TEA has posted the 2014-15 School Report Cards. This will show the state accountability ratings which are based on four performance indexes: Student Achievement, Student Progress, Closing Performance Gaps, and Postesecondary Readiness. We are happy to report that HSB exceeded the Target Score for each index and received the Accountability Rating of Met Standard. We also received 2 Distinction Designations in Mathematics and Social Studies.

5th Grade Sky Ranch Trip Meeting
5th Grade Sky Ranch Trip
Just a reminder that if you are interested in having your student attend the upcoming 5th grade Sky Ranch trip taking place February 29-March 2, 2016, please be sure you turn in your Sky Ranch Parent Letter and the Permission Form to Ms. Chung or the front office no later than Friday, January 15th. Cost to attend this trip is $165 per student. The 1st payment will be due on January 15th. Should you have any questions, please contact Ms. Chung at ychung@harmonytx.org. We hope all of our students will be able to attend this fun-filled, educational trip!

PSAT Scores Available!
PSAT scores are available for viewing starting 1/7/16 by going to studentsocers website
. You can view your scores to see if you are on track for college readiness, see a list of skills required, send your scores to Khan Academy for personalized practice recommendations!

Spring 2016 Clubs Enrollment
Students will be able to enroll in clubs for the Spring semester. Club fees are $50 per student/semester. Siblings will receive a discount of $25. Please see the attached club enrollment sheet for further details and the list of clubs being offered. If the club reaches the maximum enrollment number, your child will be waitlisted.
Please make club payments at the front office by this Friday, January 15th.
Clubs will carry on next week January 11th through 15th for students who enrolled first semester.
Europe and Spain Trip 2016 Spring Break
Dear students, parents and staff,
We are inviting you to join our traditional Spring Break Europe Trip. As Harmony DFW cluster, we are going to have trip to Spain and Turkey during spring break. This trip is offered to students (8-12 grades), Parents and Staff.

All medications must be given to front office or the nurse by the parent not the student.Medications must have signed form from Dr with medication name on form.
This applies to over the counter medications also
