Final Exam Grade Waiver and Exemption Guidelines
9th, 10th and 11th grade AP/IB final exam waiver
Students enrolled in AP or IB courses for the second semester may be eligible for a grade waiver from the final exam if the following conditions exist:
· A minimum overall 2nd semester average of 80 (per class) and a minimum grade of 80 in the 4th nine weeks grading period
· Student takes the National AP/IB exam for that course in May
· Student has no more than nine absences during the second semester of the AP/IB class
· Student have no more than five tardies in the AP/IB class
· Student has no major disciplinary violations resulting in ISS, OSS or alternative school placement
· Student has no outstanding fees, fines, debts or unreturned school property
· Student takes the semester exam on the scheduled date and time, or in the case of an excused absence, during the make-up exam time
To qualify for the waiver, students must report to class on the day of the exam and take the final exam for the course. If the exam grade benefits the student’s final semester average, the exam grade will be averaged with the semester grade.
If a student has an unexcused absence for the scheduled exam period, the student forfeits the exam waiver and will take the exam for credit.
