Walk and Bike to School Day!
Wednesday, October 12: Before School (8:30 am)
Three Ways to Participate
#1: If you Live Close to GLE:
Then please consider walking or biking along with your kids to school this day! Come to the track to take a few laps, after arriving.
#2: If you Live too Far, but want to Walk & Roll:
Then bring your bikes and/or walking shoes and park at the Blacksburg Christian Church (use both lots). We will have a kid bike/walker parade down to the track and will ride and walk around the track before school. Bike parade will begin at 8:30 -- if you arrive later, join us at the track.
#3: For kids arriving by car, bus, E2:
All kids can participate in the Walk and Roll event! Volunteers will help kids make their way to the track area to enjoy a few laps before school!
**This is a before school activity and students must be supervised by a parent**
Healthy snacks and participation stickers will be provided to all participants!
Book Fair:
The Fall book fair starts this coming Monday (October 10) and Ms. Strand is looking for parent volunteers! The book fair helps to get kids excited about reading, and the proceeds help fund the purchase of new library books.
Volunteers will use the cash register to process book purchases and help students find the books that interest them. Training will be provided. There are 19 time slots, almost all 1-1.5 hours long. Volunteers can sign up for time slots by visiting the GLE Book Fair Sign Up page.
Questions? E-mail Anna Vijayan at avijayan@brandeis.edu. Thank you!
