Stars and Wish:
Stars:
- Book Club points for being well prepared and having work done when meeting with the teacher - check with Jen Hampton to see her cool data collection sheet with lesson plans for each book club!
- When students set goals for behavior or academics how can the parents help support the goals (and you)? There are a few teachers that do a really good job sending out emails often to keep parents in the loop of behavior and academics and parents appreciate knowing and hopefully being a part of the solution.
- When you hear someone mention how difficult it is to do cooperative learning with kids because it is hard to get the kids' attention back - I saw it done perfectly in the EC classroom with Mrs. Shank! She had the little ones turn to a partner and share and then got their attention back quickly and had several share out answers with the group - wow!
Wish:
- 3rd quarter is a tough time of the year! It might be a good time to fill buckets with positive emails and notes to families to help keep the 3rd quarter blues from happening:)
PLEASE DONATE - SPS SHARE
There will be an envelope in the lounge on Mondays for you to donate to SPS Cares and participate in Jeans Day each Monday of February. Also, thank you to all that have put pledge cards in my box. Consider giving to United Way and The Foundation - they do so much for our kids!
WE RAISED $141 THE FIRST MONDAY - THANK YOU FOR GIVING!
Lunch Schedule
Please be prompt on drop off and pick up times for your students. We have a few grade levels that are running up to 5 minutes late for pick up and this affects other people's lunch times and supervision issues in the cafeteria. K and 1 have stagger times of arrival so be sure pick up time is staggered as well - should be a 5 minute difference in 2 classes getting picked up.
Music and Art Interviews
If you would like to be a part of the interview team for art and music positions please email Mrs. Carder.
Collective Efficacy - Jenni Donohoo
Collective efficacy beliefs are malleable; however, they require a concerted and substantial effort to change. The belief in collective efficacy will cause schools and students to thrive.
