The 5 Causes of WWI
Why And How did WWI Start
Trench Warfare
The First Tank
In World War 1 tanks first appeared at the Battle of Flers-Courcelette in September 1916. It was the first time tanks had ever been used in a military conflict.
The British sent 49 tanks into the battle.
The Germans made the First Flamethrower or (flammenwerfer)
The Germans used it in Trench Warfare. The defenders of the trench felt heated air blowing over the parapet and in a few seconds were flooded with a scalding liquid which they think was pitch. Jets of the liquid played all over them in the midst of the smoke, as if squirted by a pump… the Germans hidden by a cloud of smoke managed to force a passage.
