November 2015
Note from our Principal
Thank you parents for taking the time to attend Parent/Teacher Conferences. The teachers and I value the partnerships we have with all of our families. We had one of the best turnouts that I can remember. It is evident that you all value this time as well! The teachers always comment on how great it is to get to know their students’ families and to develop a partnership in each student’s success.
While being out and about during conferences I had several parents ask me, “Why are the kids out of school so much?” With conferences falling at the end of October and teachers needing time to prepare for them the kids were not in school for 2.5 days. In November school is closed November 11 to honor our Veterans and 5 days during Thanksgiving break. Reading at home every day is a great habit for families to get into when kids are out of school to help keep their skills sharp.
Thanksgiving is coming up and it is one of my favorite holidays of the year because of the sentiment behind it. We all have so very much to be thankful for. Thank you for entrusting us with your precious children. Here’s wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Warmly,
Susan Heberlein
Principal
