Fourth Grade News
The Week of May 22nd
Our Week Ahead:
Reading: We will begin a new whole-class read aloud of Letters From Rifka. We will also review main idea, and will identify story elements from Because of Winn-Dixie. This week we will begin visiting with our first grade reading buddies!
Writing: Students will work on their persuasive essays.
Social Studies: We will wrap up our slide show presentations on the states of the Western region.
Math: Students will be adding and subtracting decimals. Students will also begin a "Fraction Avenue" project.
Science: Students will be learning about different types of animals (birds, reptiles, mammals, fish, and amphibians) and how they adapt, reproduce, and survive in various habitats. Students will learn through partner readings, videos, and hands-on activities.

If you have not returned your permission slip for the field trip please do it by Tuesday. We have to have a final count by then.
Thursday, May 25 - Spring Concert - Students should be at the school around 5:30 and the concert begins at 6:00.
