Justice for Wrong Doings

Guilt, Revenge, and Loyalty

The Common Theme

One theme found in many pieces of literature is the idea of justice. Almost all of the stories we read touched on the topic of justice.

Oedipus and Gilgamesh

  • Oedipus seeks justice for the former kings death, only to learn that he is searching for himself. However he follows through with seeking justice and accepts his punishment.
  • Gilgamesh and Enkidu kill the Bull of Heaven and the gods kill Enkidu for revenge, their way of seeking justice.
