Principal's Post
Week of January 3 - January 7, 2022
Dear Angell Community,
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had the ability to rest, relax and recharge over the winter break. We are excited to have you back as we return on Monday, January 3, 2022. After sixteen days of break getting back into routines will be challenging. Please remember that our first bell rings at 8:00 am with our tardy bell ringing at 8:05 am. Please do your best to have your child at their entry door before 8:00 am so they start the day in a timely fashion with their classmates. As the snow accumulates please also demonstrate a little more patience at drop-off and pick-up times.
Included in this newsletter is a reminder of our building policy regarding cold temperatures and when we will line-up outside and enjoy outdoor recess. Please be mindful of sending your children with the appropriate winter gear as it is our goal to get fresh air each and every day as long as it is warm enough.
Also, we recognize that we may see some increases with Covid positive cases as we return from break. If your child is experiencing any symptoms please keep your child home and notify our attendance line 248-837-8530. Use the button below to access the district's COVID quarantine/isolation policies. Our district policies remain the same as before break. For anyone wanting to be extra cautious during our lunch period please remember that you are welcome to have your children eat at home on a daily basis. Please complete the Eat at Home Request Form below to help keep us organized and informed. If your child or anyone in your household tests positive please contact the office (248-837-8500) or myself at (248-837-8501 or vincenzo.gigliotti@berkleyschools.org). In an effort to support our community please remember that we offer free COVID testing at the Tyndall Board Office (14501 Talbot St, Oak Park, MI, 48237) Monday-Friday from 7:15 am to 8:00 am.
Our staff will work with families to provide work at home for any extended absences due to Covid or other illnesses. However, please know that at this time we do not have any virtual options for short-term absences. We appreciate your flexibility and will work with you to support your child's academic needs during an absence.
Again, we are excited to have everyone back in the building and look forward to a memorable 2022.
