What we are learning in Room 12...
If your child is going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - We are about halfway through our unit about elapsed time, measurement (kg/g, mL/L), and place value. This week, students will take the assessment for elapsed time and measurement. When they return in January, they'll learn about rounding and place value addition/subtraction with regrouping. Please have your child continue to practice multiplication and division facts over break!
- Reading - We will learn about point of view when we return in January and we'll learn about Martin Luther King, Jr. to celebrate MLK day.
- Writing/Spelling - In writing, we will finish publishing our personal narratives before winter break. Our spelling pattern the first week of January is "r-controlled vowels" - or/a. There is no spelling test this week!
- Science - We will go on our field trip tomorrow to finish our Tallmadge history unit! Science will resume with Mrs. Kerscher after winter break and they will be studying rocks.
