Department Updates
Combination of Department. Please give them a good review
- Clerical Updates: The position for our Program Assistant is posted on the Eaton RESA website. Please feel free to share the posting. We will have it up until Monday, May 1st.
- Prevention Conference: For those attending the prevention conference, we have made your hotel reservations for you. Please complete a pre-conference form and turn it in to Laurie with your meals and mileage calculated. The hotel room costs are $99 per night (that number is fine for the form)
- Tobacco Conference: Please make carpool arrangements with your co-workers if you are attending this conference.
- Evaluations: It's evaluation season. If you receive an evaluation as a part of your contract, please refer to the e-mail that I sent with instructions for filling out your self-evaluation and scheduling your observation. Travis gets the prize for being the first one to schedule an observation:)
- Deadlines: It's a really busy time of year and I've noticed a few deadlines have slipped by people. Please put reminders on your calendars to stay on top of these. If you are going to be late, always request and extension and let me know so that I can speak to the reporting issue if I need to.
- Associate Supt Interviews: Our first round of interviews were April 17th. We are bringing back two candidates for a second interview on Monday, April 24th with the Administrative Council. The new Associate Superintendent will begin a new contract on July 1 and will be with us through the summer to get oriented. Please start thinking about program highlights that you would like me to share with our new administrator.
- District Calendar: You should all have received your district calendar for next year. Please keep these handy for future reference.
- Facilities: If you see things that don't look right, don't work right, or you have a suggested change for, please report these to support staff who have access to the School Dude software.
- Payday & Timesheets: Payday is Friday, April 28th. If you use timesheets, please submit them to Laurie Marshall and cc me. It's best to have them in on the same Friday as payday! Don't want anyone to not get paid!
Initiative Updates
- Tri-County Suicide Prevention: I met with CMH to discuss the opportunity for them to facilitate a tri-county suicide prevention coalition. They are very interested in this work and are putting internal resources together to move this forward.
- Regional Opioid Training: MSHN requested our partnership in a 2-year grant to provide opioid trainings throughout the region. We assisted with a funding request and are waiting to hear back on a response from the State.
- Power of We: For those not familiar, the Power of We is the collaborative body for Ingham County. They have undergone several administrative changes and are restructuring. More to come!
- Mid-Michigan Trauma Collaborative: I've been asked to participate as a stakeholder in the Mid Michigan Trauma Collaborative. I'll updated you all when I learn more about the objectives of this collaborative body.
- MiPHY: 2018 is a MiPHY implementation year. I will be presenting to Eaton County Supt's at the end of May. As appropriate, please be working with your school districts to "plant the seeds" for smooth administration next year.
