Please know that all therapy dogs have been individually trained and certified to provide emotional support, comfort, therapeutic benefits, emotional well-being or companionship to students. Further, therapy dogs are up-to-date on their vaccinations and immunizations. They are also clean, well-groomed, and housebroken.

Announcement From Mrs. Hopf
Suzuki Violin Lessons
The Suzuki Violin Method is offered to Kindergarten, 1st-grade, and 2nd-grade students in North Penn schools. Dr. Suzuki believed that ability is not an inherited trait and that anyone can learn to play an instrument in the same way in which one learns their native language, by imitation.
When: Starting December 2nd (NW)
Where: North Wales' class will be on FRIDAYS from 8:15-8:40 am
Instruments: Provided through an instrument lease program https://www.zeswitzmusic.com
(about $100 for the first 6 months, then $20 a month)
Special instructions: A parent must attend lessons with their child.
Lesson Fee: None! All lessons are free.
Principal Features of the Suzuki Philosophy:
Start at an early age: Young children relate easily to movement and sound.
Use of a well-organized repertoire: Pieces are taken from sources of folk and classical literature, including the works of Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi.
Repetition
Parent involvement during lessons at school and at home
Nurturing environment: Created by the parent and child learning together
Reading of printed music begins in level 2 lessons
How music helps build other areas of success in school:
Encourages higher-level thinking
Enhances ability to focus
Increases memory skills
Employs multiple sensory development
Develops self-esteem and discipline
Develops independent muscle and finger coordination

Foundation Winter Staff Tribute 2022
Girls On The Run Program
Girls on the Run is an evidence-based program (for grades 3,4,&5) that inspires all girls to build their confidence, kindness, and decision making skills. Dynamic lessons instill valuable life skills including the important connection between physical and emotional health.
The program focuses on movement more than running. It is not necessary to be a runner or an athlete to participate in the program.
We will meet twice a week after school until 5:15pm. Practice starts the last week of February and runs for about 10 weeks (20 practices). *If there is no school, there is no Girls on the Run.*
The 5K celebration is scheduled for 5/21/23. Please note, this is the rain date for the Iron Knights Triathlon. If these events end up on the same day, we can find a way for your girl to participate in both (if they want).
If you have additional questions, please reach out to Jessica Levine jhaaslevine@gmail.com
