PLTW Principles of Biomedical Sciences

PLTW Principles of Biomedical Sciences class just wrapped up a unit on heart disease. We dissected a heart to learn how blood moves through the heart, designed an experiment related to blood pressure, took EKG’s, viewed normal and clogged arteries under the microscope, built models to show how the heart works as a pump, and then looked at how we could use medical interventions to prevent or treat heart disease. Here Desirae Scott, Kenzie Krause, and Riley Carey presented a fictitious patient and offered recommendations from the shoes of a cardiologist, nutritionist, and gynecologist.
