Lake Hopatcong Block Party Volunteers Needed

Dear Roxbury High School Students...

The Lake Hopatcong Block Party celebrates all facets of Lake Hopatcong life by bringing visitors together with businesses, non-profit organizations, community groups, crafters, and food vendors for a community day like no other, featuring activities, raffles, giveaways, a children’s scavenger hunt, and more. This year’s Block Party is set to take place on Saturday May 20 from 10-4pm.

Hundreds of folks join us each year to volunteer, and as the Block Party grows, so does our need for help! Whether you enjoy giving back, meeting new people, or have community service hours to fulfill for school or work, the Block Party is an excellent volunteer opportunity. Our volunteers rave about the camaraderie, fun, and fulfillment that comes from spending a few hours helping the Lake Hopatcong Foundation organize the lake’s lakeside gathering (and there’s a t-shirt in it for you)!

Example Block Party jobs include helping with setup and breakdown, greeting vendors and guests, educating and entertaining children with games and activities, assisting with the free boat rides, coordinating the scavenger hunt, stamping Adventure Program passports, selling 50/50 raffle tickets, corralling cars in the parking lot, and more (much more)! Want to help but aren’t around on May 20? More and more of the Block Party is setup the Friday before, and any amount of time you can give is a big help!

Here’s the link to sign-up and help us: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040e44a4a723a1f49-20221#/
Groups that want to work together are very welcome! If you are part of a school, scout, or civic group, be sure to leave that information in the “comment” section when signing up. Questions? Call Caitlin at 973-663-2500.

Roxbury Schools Communication Survey

Roxbury Township Public Schools is striving for silver certification with Sustainable Jersey for Schools as outlined in our district goals for this year. As part of this certification process, the district needs to evaluate the effectiveness of its communication strategies. That's where you come in! We are interested in learning more about your thoughts, feelings, and attitudes toward how Roxbury Township Public Schools communicates with you! If you could please take a few minutes to complete our survey by no later than May 12th to help us reach this goal, we'd greatly appreciate it. Click here to complete our Communication Survey!
