A note from Mr. Dubinsky
Continue to report COVID-19 symptoms to school nurse
If your student is COVID-19 positive, has COVID-19 symptoms, or is in quarantine because they were a close contact of someone with COVID-19, please stay home and contact Donna Vitalo (dvitalo@ccsd89.org or 630-545-3300). The ability to understand transmission levels and potential absences in schools (for both students and staff) helps keep students and staff safe, and can prevent outbreaks in a school.

Lifetouch Pictures
This week, students that are in-person should have received their Lifetouch pictures that were taken on December 4. Students that are remote can pick theirs up at Briar Glen between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Each student who took pictures in December has been assigned a specific Portrait ID and Access Code. These codes are printed on a sheet in an envelope for students that didn't already order pictures. Parents can use these codes in order to purchase packages. Otherwise, they will have to call customer service at (800) 736-4753.
Vision and Hearing Screening
The state requires vision screening for kindergarten, second-grade, and eighth-grade students; as well as hearing screening for students in kindergarten through third grade. New students and special-education students are also screened. Now that some students have returned to the buildings, school nurses will be screening students in the mandated groups. If your child attends remotely but you would like them to be screened, please reach out to our school nurse.
Remote learners will need to pick up jump rope ASAP (Kdg-5 grades only)
