Friday River Launch
December 11, 2020
It's almost HALF-TIME!
It's almost time to take a break, replenish our bodies and minds, and get ready for the second half!
As we think about the second half, what adjustments to Online Learning do we need to make? What do we need to "Keep, Stop or Start?"
Here are some CKH Student Activities to support our students as we end this semester and start the next one:
1. "Highlight Reel"
Ask students to draw a picture or make a video describing a good memory or experience from 2020. Share the highlights with the class and discuss the activity. Why is it important to focus on positive experiences?
Give students an assignment to find a quote, story, challenge, or message they think would be a good Launch for the class. Collect in a shared location on your online platform called "The Launchpad." Each day, choose a Launch from the Launchpad and share, "Today's Launch is brought to you by [student's name]."
Thank you for Capturing Kids' Hearts!
You are appreciated!
A very special THANK YOU goes out to Thomas, Fran, and the campus supervisors for all of the room set up for the classroom checklist. It has taken HOURS and HOURS to set up the classrooms with PPE and to arrange the desks. You are appreciated!
Thank you to Thomas who is our contact tracer at Rio Norte. Thomas spends hours each day following up on possible exposures, completing the mandatory County paperwork, and communicating with the district nurse, Mike V. and Collyn. Thank you!!
Congratulations to Chris for announcing her retirement. She will be missed! Please consider contributing to a group gift by Tuesday.
Congratulations to Nita, we wish you happiness in your new position as a textbook clerk. West Ranch and Rancho Pico are lucky to have you!
Thank you to Lisa James, who continues to advise and work with our NJHS students in the middle of a pandemic! The election videos for officers are awesome!
Thank you, Lisa, for sharing Nearpod and Quizizz tips with teachers for PD this week!
Our thoughts are with Norma as she was in a serious car accident Friday and will be out a few months. Get well soon, Norma!
Congratulations to all of the 2019-2020 Teachers of the Year! Friday night they had dinner delivered to their house as they watched the belated virtual ceremony. Congrats Stephanie!
Thank you to Kacey and Thomas for planning our parent ELAC meeting this week! And thank you to Michelle Oh who always attends!
