HHS ILC will be Celebrating Banned Book Week on September 27 – October 3, 2015. We are collaborating with the English Teachers by having them create student based projects through social media, videos, power points, etc.
We have the following activities scheduled for the week:
Banned Book Week Book Cover Contest in which students will design a new original cover for a book that is on the banned book list. We will be working closely with the Art Department for this contest.
Banned Book Week posters will be displayed throughout the school hallways.
The ILC will also have a display of Banned Books and student projects for all to view.

A Little Free Library was placed in the Aquatic Center.
The purpose of the little library at the Aquatic Center is to continue the support of HCISD's mission of early literacy. The little library will be utilized by 2nd grade students who are not able, for whatever reason, to participate in the SEAL program but are still encouraged to attend classes at the aquatic center. The Aquatic Center has a reading rug on deck in close proximity to the instructional pool for students to sit and read during their allotted time for swim class.
