A note from Mrs. Zellner and Mr. West
Dear Maple Dale families,
It is hard to believe spring break is almost here! We are looking forward to a fun 4th quarter with the warmer weather and various activities planned. While still following our Healthy Aves protocols, we are planning for some our favorite traditions including field trips, Field Day, 4th Grade Celebration, and more! Please be on the lookout for more details from your child's teacher and for various volunteering opportunities from our wonderful PTO.
After spring break, our 3rd and 4th graders will start preparing for the AIR test, which is the state testing we administer every year. While the actual testing dates are spread out, please make note that we will begin testing the week of April 4 and conclude testing on Friday, April 22. If you have a 3rd or 4th grader, we ask that parents try to avoid making appointments on testing days. Thank you for your support in this matter.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Mindy and Keena

'22-'23 Class Placement Information
This form is optional for parents. While considering your child’s learning characteristics and social interaction style, your child’s current teachers will carefully place your child in a friendly, collaborative group with other children with whom he/she works well. If you would like your child to be placed with a specific peer, please complete the form below. Every effort will be made to place your child with one of the students listed below. Please list six names to ensure a classroom placement with a peer. If fewer than six names are provided, the likelihood of your child being placed with a peer listed is decreased. Teacher requests will not be honored. Please complete by March 31, 2022.
PTO Update
The PTO would like to give an update on the fall grants that were submitted and approved in late December. Thanks to the generous funds from Color Run many of the grant recipients are already utilizing their grants funds or are in process of fulfilling their grants. Mrs. Phoenix’s class received a book grant to help with their Wax Museum project. The Little People, Big Dreams biographies were a bit hit! Various grade level STEM kits have been purchased and are on their way to the school. It is amazing to see thoughtful submissions come from the students themselves. The collection of lids is in the works for a recycled rainbow bench and matching trash can. As the weather warms up, we will reach out for volunteers to help paint bases on the blacktop requested by students. While some events have not taken place this year, we are working hard to bring some programs and events in during the second half of the school year.
We will also open an opportunity for spring grant submissions soon so stay tuned! Also, be on the lookout for information on Family Fun to be coming out soon.

Bottle Caps to Benches!
Our goal is to collect enough caps for a bench to install near our Gaga Pit along with an additional trash can. We are hoping to be able to get a rainbow color bench to remember our fun and successful Color Run from this fall! Please support this project by collecting caps and sending them to school! You can click here for acceptable caps as well as see the pictures below. Thank you to our wonderful PTO for helping to support this project as well.
