A Note From The Director
Another busy month has come and gone at the school. We have participated in many wonderful activities and have many more in store for the upcoming month.
Thank you to everyone who was able to support our students for our Halloween and Fall Fun Celebrations! The children were excited to share their costumes, see the pumpkin exhibits, and gather treats and goodies. Later this month we will participate in Thanksgiving gatherings. It should be another fun month of learning and coming together as a community.
We will celebrate World Kindness Day Friday November 13. World Kindness Day is a global day that promotes the importance of being kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world. The purpose of this day is to help everyone understand that compassion for others is what binds us all together. St. Mark’s is a Kind Campus and we are so fortunate to work with organizations like Ben’s Bell to promote kindness every day!
In the spirit of kindness for the upcoming holiday season, we have once again decided to collect non-perishable food items to benefit the St. Mark’s Church food pantry. Please read on the next page for a list of the most needed items.
As always, I appreciate your time to stay involved and up to date with what is happening at the school.
I would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!
Important Reminder: Sign Your Child In and Out Daily!
It is important that each family sign their child in and out daily in the binders located in front of each classroom. Families must sign in and out with the exact time and full legal signature for each day in attendance.
It is also very important to arrive to school on time each day. School starts promptly at 8:30. You may arrive as early as 8:15 with no additional charge. The teachers thank you for your cooperation!

SAZAEYC Conference
St. Mark’s staff will have the opportunity to attend the Annual SAZAEYC Conference VIRTUALLY next month. This year’s theme is “Better Together” Traditionally, this annual conference hosts approximately 500 early childhood educators and we are proud to be a part of it! This year, families are invited to join virtually as well! There will be performance from some of our favorites including Jordan Hill-Storyteller, and Music and Movement with Mr. Nature! For more information about SAZAEYC and the annual conference, please visit their website. https://www.sazaeyc.org/annual-conference.html
United Ways Days of Caring
United Way’s Days of Caring was a huge success! Along with 4 volunteers from UA-Eller College of Management, we were able to put rubber paint on the castle stairs, reseal the logs, mailboxes wooden picnic tables and raised garden, rake and redistribute the sand around the playground, repaint the metal picnic table, and repaint the bouncer.
Community Health
We aim to keep students and staff healthy for a busy and fun day at school. With flu season upon us, as well as other illnesses that are easily spread, please be mindful of the school community by keeping your child home if they are ill, or have symptoms of sickness. Please see the third page of the Family Handbook for guidelines of when your child should not attend school.
Weather Appropriate Clothing
It’s hard to believe but, the weather will start to get a bit colder. Make sure to have your little ones in weather appropriate clothing, especially in the morning, as they will play outside. Make sure to label jackets with your child’s name. Please note we only stay inside when it is below 40º.
Today I am Thankful for-- November Challenge
Life is FULL of challenges! Each of us are experiencing the ups and downs, highs and lows of life. And, sometimes, it’s easy to get caught up in it. This November, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, dedicate to finding the joy and finding the good things that you are thankful for. It may be a simple sunset or just making it through a tough day. It may be a person that you love or a place that you fee comfort.
HERE IS THE CHALLENGE:
Every day until November 30th, write down or post a picture on Social Media of what you are thankful for. By the end of the month you will have a whole collection of things you are thankful for that you can look back on and will bring you joy!
