Anoka Business and Marketing Students earned Sales Certificate of Achievement
The Business and Marketing Department at Anoka High School prides itself on providing
students with career skills that they can use in the future. In our Advertising and Sales class,
students learn to develop their selling skills through numerous practical classroom selling
situations, sales demonstrations, and formal observations of sales professionals. Through all of
these activities the students are constantly developing and honing their sales skills.
The Advertising and Sales class not only offers professional development sales skills to the
students enrolled in the course, but it honors those students that excel in their sales
demonstrations with a Sales Certificate of Achievement. In order to earn this Certificate of
Achievement the student must demonstrate their selling skills at a proficient level in accordance
with the Minnesota State High School DECA excellent rating. After attaining this excellence
rating, the students are then awarded a certificate.
The certificate provides proof that these select students are trained in the fundamentals of
selling. Several students said that the sales class helped them build confidence in their sales
abilities as well as building their own self-confidence. Senior, Izzy Reichenbacher highly
recommends taking this class, stating that this course has been extremely beneficial to both her
professional and academic achievements, and is able to apply what she has learned to her job,
which has resulted in an increase in sales and lots of positive feedback. Along with earning the
sales certificate, Izzy has learned material that will be helpful for college and future
careers, as well as social skills useful in her everyday life.

Our STEAM Seniors are deep into working on their final capstone projects. With the STEAM Expo approaching on May 18th, students are currently building their first prototypes. This year's 45+ projects range from climbing holds and healthy eating apps to addressing fear of dentists and recycling 3D printer filament.
On February 16th (Thur @6:30pm) we are hosting our Professional Project Review and would like to invite you to be one of our Professional Reviewers. After a short orientation, Professional Reviewers will meet with individual students to learn about their project concepts, examine their prototype progress, and provide constructive feedback. This invaluable input will guide students as they move forward with their project.
In the past, the input and feedback provided by our Professional Reviewers, like YOU, has been absolutely invaluable to our students. As we strive to create a learning opportunity that is meaningful and relevant, your investment of time in this role is incredibly impactful for our students. This event gives students a chance to reach beyond the walls of school and into the real world.
Thank you so much for being a part of our student's education. Relevancy and real-world connection is so incredibly important for our students, and your involvement makes that a reality!
