The Mary Poppins Cast Is Heating Up...

Parents & Guardians:

This week’s Parent eNews will include some information about the “Good and Bad” surrounding apps available to our students. Many apps out there are age appropriate and useful; however, many other apps can be dangerous and platforms for bullying and other inappropriate items. It’s always good to monitor your child’s phone and social media activity to ensure they are being safe. Below I have listed a website that lists many of the apps available. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions pertaining to these apps. Additionally, let’s all work toward keeping our kids safe and free from dangerous apps and social media platforms.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend…

Special Happenings:

February Vacation: Feb. 18-22, 2019

Enjoy your February vacation!

PTO’s Box Top Contest:

The PTO is holding a box top collection contest for all grades and the winning homeroom will be treated to a special breakfast!

Box tops are due in by Feb 15th. Homeroom teachers have collection envelopes to put them in. If you can send them in counted and labeled with the amount, it would be extremely helpful.

Each one is worth 10 cents and they really add up! PTO collects these in the office ALL YEAR LONG.

PTO & Pizzeria Uno’s:

Dine at Pizzeria UNO’s in Sturbridge anytime in February or March and the PTO will earn 20% of food sales.

UNO’s ticket must be brought with you and can be printed off below by clicking on “Click Here.”

SEPAC Information:

Join the DC-SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) for a FREE presentation by the Bureau of Special Education Appeals (BSEA). The BSEA presentation will provide an overview of the special education mediation process. BSEA Mediator, Steve Lilly-Weber, will be presenting.

This presentation is during February break: Tuesday, 2/19 6:30-8pm @ Dudley Middle School Auditorium.

The BSEA, which derives its authority from both federal and Massachusetts statutes and regulations (the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act; "IDEA"; MGL ch.71B; Section 504 of the Rehabiliation Act of 1973) conducts due process hearings and renders Rulings and Decisions concerning eligibility, evaluation, placement, individualized education programs (IEP), provision of special education and procedural protections for students with disabilities.
