Reading
We are learning Point of View in our stories. The point of view who is telling the story at different points in the story. We read Goldilocks and the 3 Bears and gave students character cards. We reread parts of the story aloud and the children had to guess who was speaking. Sometimes, the narrator is telling the story even if he/she doesn't have quotation marks around his word.
Spider races
As a team building activity and a writing activity we used left over spiders from Halloween and had races across the table. The students had a straw and a plastic spider and had to keep on hand behind their back...and then BLOW! It looked much easier than it actually was. We also learned a lot about being a good sport.....
Science
After learning about constellations, the children had an opportunity to make their own out of black paper and stars and name it.
Buddies
The children were given letters to make small words and then had to try to figure out that when you use all of the letters, they will make the mystery word. Ask your child what the mystery word was.!
Top Dog -Chakrika
Chakrika's favorite animal is a dog and she loves to eat cheese pizza. She wants to be an astronaut when she grows up. She is pawsome at basketball and soccer.
