Curriculum Nights

I would like to thank our entire community for such successful Curriculum Nights. The parent turn-out was fabulous. Our goal for these curriculum nights is to provide curricular information and give parents the opportunity to become more familiar with the adults spending so much time with their children. If you have any lingering questions as a result of the evening, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teachers.

Supporting your child’s school and being involved in our curriculum night sends a strong message to your children about the importance of school. As parents, we have the greatest influence on our children. Attending school functions sends them the message that their education is important and significant. Thanks for supporting your student’s learning and Thompson Middle School.

Safety Days

Earlier this week, the Thompson community took part in our first safety day of the year. During a safety day, students and staff practice their identified plans and behaviors in the event of crisis situations. Specifically, we take part in a fire drill, tornado drill, and a safe and secure (lock down) drill. Today we had representatives from both the St. Charles Fire and Police Departments observing our drills and providing feedback that helps us improve our systems. By taking proactive measures to prepare for each of these emergency situations, we help ensure that our Thompson Middle School students are as safe as possible at all times. If you have an extra moment this long weekend, I encourage you to have a conversation with your middle schooler which will help them process and solidify what actions need to be taken in the event of an emergency.

Thompson is fortunate to have St. Charles Detective Chuck Crumlett in position as our full time resource officer. For those of you who drive your students to school each morning, you are warmly greeted by Detective Crumlett in the front circle drive.

Enjoy the holiday weekend,

~Steve
