Free Trade or Protectionist

Free Trade
People who are for international trade. Their arguments are: 1) Infant industries need to be immediately exposed to foreign competition to make them stronger and more competitive. 2) International trade allows for specialization which means higher quality and lower prices for EVERYONE.
3) In times of war we need the best goods produced by the best countries (national defense).
Protectionist
People who are against or want to limit international trade. Their arguments are:
1) Infant industries need to be protected from foreign competition until they become established.
2) International trade needs to be limited/restricted to "protect" domestic jobs, trade balance and value of money.
3) In times of war we should be able to produce our own instead of being too dependent on other countries.
