Attention 10th to 12th grade WYHS Students!

On Wednesday, November 20th, WYHS will be offering the ASVAB test to 10th-12th graders.

What is the ASVAB?

The ASVAB is a FREE career exploration program measuring your strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success whether you choose to go to a 2-year college, 4-year college, vocational school, or into a military career. Contrary to popular belief, you do NOT have to be considering a military career in order to take the ASVAB.

Deadline to Sign Up: Monday, November 18th by the end of Ram Time.

Stop Trying to Raise Successful Kids... And Start Raising Kind Ones.

Check out this article on how to balance raising a child who is successful AND kind.

"Of course, we should encourage children to do their best and to take pride and joy in their accomplishments—but kindness doesn't require sacrificing those things. The real test of parenting is not what your children achieve, but who they become and how they treat others. If you teach them to be kind, you’re not only setting your kids up for success. You’re setting up the kids around them, too."

Thinking about going to college? Do these things now!

  1. Create a Common Application

    1. Commonapp.org

    2. Link your college app to your Naviance account (putting a college on Naviance does NOT mean you applied!)

  2. Apply directly to the college through their college website if they are not on common app.

  3. Talk to at least two teachers to request a letter of recommendation.

  4. Set time aside each week to search for scholarships.
