Kevin James biography

Kevin James was both a comedian and an actor. Kevin's real name was Kevin George Knipfing and was born on April 26 1965 in Mineola New York. When Kevin and his family moved to Long Island New York he played football as a tailback on his football team. Once Kevin graduated in 1983 he continued to play football at SUNNY Cortland and there he majored in sports.


He focused on his football career in high school and college. He started acting later in life as a comedian. His first job was at East side comedy club on Long Island.

How he got started

Kevin James started on the show The New Candid Camera in 1991. On the show he used his skill of comedy to pull unexpected jokes.

Who Kevin James looks up to/Who influenced his career

Kevin James was influenced by a public speaking course at Cortland. When he returned to Long Island he tried out for a comedy part, made it, and his career for acting took off. Currently I do not think Kevin James looks up to someone that is clear because it is not on the internet besides his teachers.

He played Doug on the TV sitcom The King of Queens, and was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. His film credits include Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Zookeeper, Pixels, Hitch, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and Grown Ups.


He played on both the football and the wrestling teams at Ward Melville High School in New York. He failed to graduate from the State University of New York at Cortland.


He made his big screen debut with a cameo in the 2004 comedy 50 First Dates.FAMILY LIFEHe married actress Steffiana de la Cruz in 2004. He and Steffiana have four children.


He guest starred on several episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond alongside Patricia Heaton.
