Congratulations!
Have you ever thought of being a substitute teacher? If so, we NEED you!
It's almost Thanksgiving! It's almost Christmas! Every year we scurry to make a difference in disadvantaged children's lives during the holidays. Toys, clothes, and food are all wonderful things to give children, but most of all... our children need role models.
We need people with a calling to serve others in our schools daily. Substitutes are needed who truly desire to make an impact in children's lives. It's more difficult than cutting a check or cleaning out a closet, but your interaction with students might be the relationship that points a child toward a beautiful life.
Please consider giving the most impacting gift that you can this year... yourself. If you feel moved to help our students, please contact the central office at (812)482-1801.
Kindness Challenge of the Week
Send a thank you card or a picture to a soldier.
Every week, your child will be receiving a kindness challenge! If they complete the challenge, they get to put up a sticker on our kindness challenge board!
Jump in on the fun at home too! Help us promote kindness to all - at school, home, and community!

GJCS Parent School Safety Academy
The Parent School Safety Academy is a unique program to Greater Jasper Schools that will teach parents the school corporation safety principles and fundamentals that guide response protocols. This program will not reveal details that would compromise safety at Greater Jasper Schools, but will provide parents with a basic understanding of school safety practices that will facilitate parental response in case of a crisis and allow for constructive feedback.
During this interactive program, parent participants will learn about national and state safety practices, current trends in school safety and how these practices and trends impact safety planning at Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools. Parent input will be integral during the program. Eligible Participants
Participants in the Parent School Safety Academy must be the parent/guardian of a student attending Greater Jasper Schools. Participants will be required to submit an application for the program. Up to 20 participants will be selected per course offering. Vendor discussions and/or product promotions will not be supported in the program.
Participants will complete a training course focusing on the fundamentals of school safety including; legal requirements, best practices related to school violence, severe weather preparedness, access control, communications and reunification. Participants will also review key findings of the USDOE/Secret Service study, and components of effective implementation of a school safety plan.

Box Top APP!
We have earned $685.40 on the app so far! Have you contributed to that?
If you haven't downloaded the Box Top APP yet, please do so! It is so easy to earn money for our school! Please spread the word to other community members. Just take a pic of your receipt using the app! If it still has box tops that you cut out, we will take those too!
Also, if you do Wal-Mart pick up, please email your receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.com for our school to receive the box top money!
We have a school goal of $2,000. Let's do this!
Coca Cola Gives
We were recently made aware of another way to collect donations for our school for FREE!
Like Box Tops, the Coca-Cola Give program allows you to enter/scan codes from Coke products (not just Coke) you purchase and they will send a check to Ireland Elementary each quarter. It’s that simple! We’ve already received a check for $60! FREE MONEY!
Go to https://us.coca-cola.com/give/schools/
to create a free account, select Ireland Elementary, & start entering/scanning your codes!

Drop off in the morning - you MUST drive around the school for drop off. The front of the school is for bus traffic only. You may park and walk in your child, but by no means are you allowed to pull up and drop off in the front of the school in the morning. No dropping-off students in the parking lot, letting them cross, and come into school on their own. Our school safety officer will be enforcing that drop-off procedures are done properly.
Volunteers!
Anyone who would like to volunteer at school or chaperone a field trip must submit a background check. Once this is done, it is good as long as your child is a student at Ireland. If you aren't sure if you have completed one, your child's teacher can look it up for you. Background Check Link
