Emily Lyn
Mechanical Engineering Major
Facts about me.
While trying to find some great reasons to go to UCF to present to my father, who didn't really want me following in his footsteps. I found out about the Excel/ Compass program. The more I read into the program the more I believed it could help me reach my goal of becoming a mechanical engineer. The program I think does this by kinda of forcing freshmen to create study habits by going into the Excel/Compass lab. It also lets me learn how to network and gives me the opportunity to network and meet new people.
An interesting fact about me is that I had AMPS.(Amplified musculoskeletal pain syndrome) Some people under the age of 18 who get diagnosed with fibromyalgia and arthritis at the same time are actually misdiagnosed. In my case I was lucky. I wasn't to the point of being in a wheelchair when I got to the doctor. I was able to be cured in a little less then two months and I have not had a relapse since. I do hope to spread the word about AMPS because many people do not know it exist.
