Spring 2021

A NOTE FROM MRS. TRACZ & MRS. BROWN

Hello Edison Families!

We are ending this school year in such a bittersweet way. While this school year has been unlike any other with both virtual learning and in-person learning with social distancing and masks, we have made it through the challenges and found successes. We end this school year with a sigh of relief, but also with great pride of what we have overcome TOGETHER! Our staff, students, and families have worked in ways beyond our expectations and formed incredibly strong partnerships. Thank you parents, guardians, and families for your continued support. Our Edison family would not be the same without all of you! Let’s enjoy the last few weeks of school together and please have a fun, relaxing, and safe summer!

Golden Bus

Edison has implemented a new P.B.I.S. component for improved safety, behavior and efficiency in dismissing students to their buses at the end of the day. Our “Golden Bus” Incentive is supporting students working as a group to move their “bus” up the chart and to the “Golden Bus” level where all students in that bus group receive a reward. Thank you Miss Diana for leading this new support for our students!

Masks at Recess

A new protocol that has been identified by the Lake County General Health District. One change is the fact that the health department is endorsing students engaging in outdoor recess with masks removed. They did state that we should encourage students to play in small groups (cohorts) and stay 6 feet away from others when possible. If a case of COVID should occur, students playing with the COVID positive person will need to quarantine.

Approved by Superintendent, Mr. Steve Thompson, students are now allowed to play outside without masks. Students can choose to remove their masks once they have exited the building and replace their mask prior to re-entering the building. This means they will have to keep their mask on themselves during recess so that they do not lose them or that they get dirty.
