Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis primarily affects the elderly. It results from a loss of bone tissue. Loss of calcium and thinning bones are all effects of osteoporosis. Bones fracture easily with osteoporosis. There is no cure for osteoporosis, but treatment includes taking calcium and vitamin D supplements.
Arthritis
Arthitis occurs at the joints. It is usually caused by cartilage between bones wearing away. Cartilage protects joints, allowing them to move smoothly. Sympotms of arthritis are joint pain, and swelling. There is no cure for arthritis, but treatments include, medicines, low impact excercise, and joint replacement surgery.
Scoliosis
Scoliosis is when the spine curves sideways. In most cases of scoliosis, the cause is unknown. In some cases, doctors have determined disease, injury, infection, or birth defect to be the cause. Scoliosis is treated by wearing a brace, or surgery.
