Ebinport Elementary: Eagle Eye News
March 30, 2020
Dear Families,
We want you to know first and foremost that we miss our students so very much and wish more than anything we were all together at Ebinport. However, school is NOT closed for the year. There is a lot of teaching and learning left to do and, although we know how difficult and frustrating it has been for families to adjust to a new way of learning, our teachers are ready to rise to the occasion.
Our first phase of remote learning is quickly coming to an end. This Friday, April 3rd, is the last day of this first phase of remote learning. By this date, students should have completed the assignments within their first round of instructional packets/online learning. The second round of remote learning packets will be mailed to homes at the end of this week along with report cards for the 3rd nine weeks.
It is vital that we have updated contact information for students and families - phone, email, and address. If your information needs updating, please contact your child's teacher or Mrs. McClain at TMcClain@rhmail.org.
Our second phase of remote learning will begin the week after Spring Break. Spring Break is April 6th - 10th and students will NOT have assignments during that week. On Monday, April 13th, students will return to remote learning and work on assignments in their second packet, view teacher lessons, attend meetings online, participate in online discussions, communicate with teachers, etc.
As we continue the process of remote learning, it is extremely important to make sure students are completing all assignments and communicating with their teachers. Students will be receiving grades for the 4th nine weeks based on their remote learning assignment, so it is very important that students are completing assignments daily.
Please be sure you are checking Class Dojo, Canvas, and Remind regularly so that you and your child can receive announcements and keep up with their school work.
We are thankful for the patience and grace you have shown us as we all adjust to remote learning and we hope you will continue to show your support as we begin to introduce new curriculum in new ways.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kelsey
Queridas Familias,
Sinceramente,
Señora Kelsey

Title I Family Engagement Survey
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) legislation requires school districts to receive input from parents concerning the parent and family engagement activities offered in the Title I schools in the district.
Please complete the survey (https://forms.gle/ZWGMC5UjaMMycnEM9) before April 17. Your responses will assist the school district in ensuring that parent and family engagement activities being offered at your child’s school meet your needs and interests.
The results of the survey will be used to strengthen the home to school partnership. If you have any questions concerning the survey, please contact Dr. Tonya Belton, Director of Federal Programs, at 803-981-1052.
