Educator Resource: Self Care After Work
Everyone's self-care may look a little different, and there's no single way to take good care of yourself. Try some different strategies until you have a full toolbox: something that energizes you, something that helps you unwind, something that helps you manage when you're having a hard time.
After a tough day, some ideas for energizing or unwinding:
Get creative:
- Knit
- Quilt
- Draw
- Play air guitar
- Bake cookies
- Sing
Connect with others to fill your tank:
- Share projects with fellow teachers
- Make positive phone calls to parents
- Spend time with loved ones
- Spend time with animals
- Give back to your community by volunteering
Look for the positive and hang on to it for a rainy day:
- Keep a folder of kind notes or feedback from students and families
- Keep a notebook of inspirational quotes
- Record something positive each day in your journal
Chill - here were some of your favorite ways to just unwind:
- Watch a mindless TV show
- Take a hot bath
- Read
- Listen to music
- Meditate
- Take the scenic route home
- Eat chocolate
Get your body moving:
- Run
- Dance
- Yoga
- Crossfit
- Go for a walk

CAEP Site Visit - Third Party Comments
The College of Education and Human Services at Seton Hall University is hosting an accreditation visit by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) on December 3, 2017. Interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments to the visiting team. Please note that comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of teacher education programs offered, and should specify the party's relationship to the college (i.e., graduate, present or former faculty member, employer of graduates).

Seton Hall University has been nationally recognized as a Bronze Medal School of Distinction by BestColleges.com, a leading provider of independent higher education rankings and college planning guides. Through three tiers of recognition, the Schools of Distinction award seeks to feature colleges and universities leading the way in online education learning. In the United States, 2,152 higher education institutions offer accredited online academic programs for students. Over 900 of these institutions are represented on BestColleges.com’s rankings due to their academic quality, affordability, and online learning outcomes. Conferences in Education
Convocation, or Convo, is more than just a biennial conference—it’s one of KDP’s longest-standing traditions. Attendees have an opportunity to meet education rock stars including members of the Laureate Chapter, present workshops or poster sessions, and get training as chapter leaders.
