GEORGIA MILESTONES TESTING
Cumming Elementary is excited for the start of Milestones Testing! Our students are prepared and ready to show what they know! Please find dates and detailed information below on this testing season.
All students in 4th grade will test online. All students in grades 3, 4, and 5, with an IEP, 504, or ESOL accommodations will also test online. Students in 3rd and 5th grade will test with a paper/pencil version. Due to the amount of technology needed for our students to test online, we will have two days of testing for each content area.
In order to prepare for testing, we will have a Mock Milestones on April 12th. This will be a time for us to practice using the technology and to make sure everything is in working order.
Please note, if your child has testing accommodations and will be testing online, they are allowed to use their own headphones as well as bring a “mouse” from home (this is in place of the key pad on the laptops). This is NOT required, as the school will provide headphones for all students. If your child chooses to bring their own, please send them in beginning April 11th so they can begin to use them in the classroom.

Title I School Complaint Procedure
News from the Nurse
Please review the following guidelines from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and our Student Handbook when making the decision to send your child to school when he or she is feeling ill. Many viruses are highly contagious and spread quickly from student to student in a classroom setting.
- If your child has any of the following symptoms, please keep your child at home: diarrhea, vomiting, persistent cough, reddened eyes with yellowish discharge, unknown rash and fever.
- We all know the importance of perfect attendance at school. We also know that children who are sick are not at their optimal learning capacity and are spreading contagious germs to other children and teachers.
- Children should be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications before returning to school.
- Children should be free of vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school.
- Children should be diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning to school.
Please feel free to contact Nurse Judy (770-887-7749 ext. 740417) if you have any questions regarding your child.
