Updates From Our Schools
Walter T Bergen
Walter T. Bergen and SRD students and staff are collecting monetary donations until December 10 to support an organization called Wreaths Across America. This effort began on Veteran's Day and will fund wreaths that will be placed on veterans gravesites at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Butler for the holiday season. On December 3 the TREP$ Marketplace will take place in the WTB Cafe from 6:00pm - 8:30pm. This PTA sponsored activity began weeks ago as young entrepreneurs from WTB have been brainstorming, developing and marketing products that will be on display on December 3. Thank you to 7th grade ELA teacher Mrs. Harvey-Henderson as well as PTA volunteers Mrs. Scaturro and Mrs. Bouchard for leading this after school activity for WTB students. As Trimester 1 ends at WTB, teachers will be nominating students for outstanding performances during the first trimester. Students from all grades and in all subjects, as well categories such as Most Improved, Citizenship, etc., will be recognized as our Trimester 1 MVBs - Most Valuable Bobcats. Winners will receive a certificate, a WTB bag and other prizes including coupons from AJ's Pizza and Union Avenue Deli.

Martha B Day
During the month of November, students are learning about Thanksgiving and what it means to give thanks. Students in kindergarten will be learning to make their own butter, while students in first grade will be making their own "Give Thanks" trail mix. Over the last few weeks, students in preschool have been learning different ways to show their friends they are thankful and discussing their favorite Thanksgiving foods! Looking into December, Martha B. Day will be participating in a hat, scarf, and mitten drive.
School District Strategic Planning
Help us plan our future! Be part of an exciting process! Come together, in person, to work with your neighbors, friends, teachers, students, and administrators to create a shared vision for Bloomingdale Public Schools!
Using a dynamic process guided by New Jersey School Boards Association, we will collaborate during three highly participatory sessions, to develop unique goals and objectives to move the district forward to meet the challenges of the 21st century and beyond.
We will be discussing our school district’s unique strengths, and the challenges we are facing. Come together with us to share your thoughts, ideas and visions in this highly participatory process so we can effectively plan for the future success of all our students.
Walk-ins are welcome but preregistration is encouraged to allow for the creation of small discussion groups.
