Pinkston PREP
Week of September 11
Message from Mr. Perla
Thank you for another week of high quality instruction. Our students are fortunate to have educators who are committed to our expected outcomes, college and career ready students.
The next few weeks are crucial. As a team, it is imperative that we build a culture of high expectations, followed by appropriate support systems that yield academic results.
We will continue to utilize the common instructional framework to guide our lesson design. Every collegiate classroom must implement these protocols to increase classroom dialogue (CT), support our literacy initiative (WTL) and create an inquisitive environment (Q).
Remember, the future of America is in our classrooms.
“Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela

Instructional Rounds
"Instructional rounds are one of the most valuable tools that a school or district can use to enhance teachers' pedagogical skills and develop a culture of collaboration. The goal of instructional rounds isn't to provide feedback to the teacher being observed, although this is an option if the observed teacher so desires. Rather, the primary purpose is for observing teachers to compare their own instructional practices with those of the teachers they observe. The chief benefit of this approach resides in the discussion that takes place among observing teachers at the end of the observation as well as in subsequent self-reflection."
