DBU Meeting
On Tuesday, April 16, MISD and Dallas Baptist University will be hosting an informational meeting for all prospective employees seeking a Master’s of Education in Educational Leadership. This is a cohort model and all coursework will be taken with the cohort at a 1/3 discount off of tuition. Face-to-face classes will meet at MISD facilities over the course of the 30-hour, non-thesis degree program. If you have some up-and-coming aspiring leaders, please talk to them about considering this program. DBU will partner with MISD and design the program around the mission and vision of MISD. A flyer with more information will be sent to staff in the coming days.
Counselor Application Pool
Administration is starting a pool for counselor applicants. The pool will open on Monday, February 25. Future counseling applicants will only be selected from the counselor applicant pool.
Assistant Principal Application Pool
The pool is now open for assistant principal applicants. Please share with your staff.
Destiny and HelloID
Destiny is the web service used to look up physical library books as well as access some non-fiction books that can be used in your classes. Destiny has been added to the HelloID sign-in. There are now three ways you and your users can use Destiny. I wanted for you to be aware in case you have used this in the past or in case your students have questions.
1. Guest users can click on a campus Destiny link and see the database in the same way they always have. There will be no change for the guest user.
2. If students and staff are already logged into Hello ID, they can go to the Destiny site and click login. They will be presented with the following options. If they click Midlothian ISD, they will automatically be logged into Destiny.
3. Students and Staff can go to the Hello ID Site https://misd.helloid.com, login with their district username and ID number, and Click on Destiny.

April: Child Safety Month, in recognition of the children of this state
as this state’s most precious resource. Child Safety Month is meant
to ensure that the children of this state grow up in a safe and sup-
portive environment by promoting their protection and care through
increased public awareness of ways to reduce accidental injury
and death through the use of bicycle helmets, seat belts, safety
and booster seats, and smoke alarms, and the dangers presented
to children by unattended and unlocked vehicles and by being left
in closed vehicles during hot or sunny weather. Child Safety Month
may be regularly observed by appropriate celebrations and activi-
ties in public schools to promote the protection and care of children
in this state.
