Skyview Upper Elementary School
Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year!
We are excited to welcome you to 5th or 6th grade this year at Skyview! Our annual open house "scavenger hunt" is Wednesday, August 20th 6:30 - 8 p.m. This event is a casual opportunity for students to find their homerooms, do a self-guided tour, try a locker and catch up with friends. Just a reminder, this is not an "orientation" - in fact, there is not a formal presentation and teachers are not present. All orientation activities take place the first day of school (Tuesday, September 2nd.)
This newsletter includes information on September events at our school as well as links to the general supply list and our staff list. Please also take a moment to read the information from our Home & School association. We are fortunate to have an active Home & School association and look forward to many families participating in events throughout the year.
As August winds down, don't forget to wrap up your summer reading! All students entering 5th/6th grade are to read (2) books and complete story map (or take an AR test if you are a 6th grader.) The story map is available on the Skyview website.
See you soon!
