Virtual First Day - August 28th
On Friday, August 28, ParentVUE/StudentVUE opened for students and families. The first time logging on must be completed on a computer, not through the mobile app, in order to complete the Online Verification process as part of LCPS’ Virtual First Day initiative.
Families will be asked to review and update important information about their students as we begin the 2020-21 school year. Once families and students complete the Online Verification process and acknowledgements, they will be able to view student schedules.
Please follow these directions to log in to Schoology and enroll in the Parent Experience course to guide you through the tools and resources available in this new learning management platform.
Live Classes for Orientation and Back to School Night
For those who would like to practice in advance, we will open the room SBHHAY from 3 to 4 pm on Tuesday, September 1st, for families and students to practice joining a Google Meet.
Chromebooks
Obtaining an LCPS Chromebook
Students who need a Chromebook may pick up their assigned device the week of August 31st at one of our technology repair centers. Please make an appointment at https://bit.ly/DDI-REPAIR to schedule the device pickup.
Getting assistance for your Chromebook
Students whose devices need repair can receive technical support by:
- Reviewing the Technology Support FAQ page
- Emailing your question to supportcenter@lcps.org (from your LCPS provided email)
- Calling the Technology Support Center at (571) 252-2112, Monday - Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM
Internet Hotspots
LCPS has acquired a limited number of hotpots to be delivered to families to assist during the extended closure due to COVID. If you would like to request a mobile internet hotspot, please fill out this SBH Hotspot Request Form You must be an LCPS student to be eligible to request a device. Quantities are limited, so completing the form does not ensure you will receive a hotspot. Devices will be distributed to students with the greatest need first. School staff will contact families to arrange the pickup of approved devices starting on September 1st.
Student Orientation - September 2nd
All activities must be completed using the student's LCPS Google Account, so students should make sure they can log in to their Chromebook and Google Tools before Orientation.
