# Histograms and Stem & Leaf Plots!

### What are they?!

- Groups of numbers in how often they appear.
- The height of each bar shows the size or how frequent each value of the bar occurs in the data.

## Compacts into....

## Stem and Leaf Plots:

- Basically show the same data as in a histogram, just with a different visual.
- It shows the frequency of a value/values within a set of data.

## The Same Example As With Histograms....

## What happens?!

- The left side of the table is what we call the stem and the right side is the leaf.
- Take the first value 0.1
- The 0. goes on the left side then the 1 goes on the right. Then since there are multiple values that begin with 0., you just add the second number in the value (the 1) on the right side. As seen in the example.

- This is not as compact as the histogram but it does allow you to see the individual data values unlike in a histogram.
- It also allows you to pinpoint any patterns that may happen in the data.
