NO BIRTHDAY TREATS

Our administration has asked that we remind parents of a very important school-wide policy. Birthday treats (cupcakes, cookies, donuts, etc.) are NOT permitted at Jackson. We have numerous allergies and food preferences in our school (known and unknown). So please save your treats for birthday celebrations outside of school. Thank you in advance.

PUMPKIN DECORATING CONTEST (VOLUNTEERS NEEDED)

This information is for parents of students in Mrs. Akin's homeroom. This year we will be getting into the fall spirit by having a school-wide pumpkin decorating contest inspired by favorite books. Noel McCullough has offered to purchase the pumpkin and art supplies. Thank you, Noel! We need a few parents to help students decorate the pumpkin during recess (11:30-12:00) one day during the week of Monday, October 22nd. Please contact Mrs. Akin via email if you are interested in helping. We could use 2-3 volunteers. Thank you!

MODEL T SIGN UP

This week we will learn about important figures from the 1920s. Henry Ford is one of those key people. His Model T revolutionized transportation, and his idea to mass produce with the use of assembly lines changed the way work was done for decades. Students will experience the benefits of mass production and will create their own Model T's out of candy on Monday, October 22nd. If you are interested in sending in some of the supplies needed for this activity, sign up here. Please send in the supplies by Friday, October 19th. Thank you!
