Juan Ponce De Leon: His Life
Juan Ponce De Leon was born in Campos, Spain in 1460. It is believed that he went with Christopher Columbus on his second voyage in 1493. He led a European expedition for gold, which eventually brought him to the southeast coast of what would become the united states. He also gave Florida its name and went on to become the first governor of Puerto Rico.
