Principal's Report
Kia Ora e te Whānau and welcome to Term 3.
What an awful wet, soggy start to the term we have had. Fortunately the bright smiles on all our teachers and learners has made up for it.
We have a number of exciting things to celebrate as we begin the new term.
Our Room 4 classroom is up and going. Miss McHardy has settled in quickly and there is lots of fantastic learning happening already.
After months and months of delay, our playground is finally finished and it looks great! Our learners have been having a fabulous time getting reacquainted with the playground equipment. A huge thank you to everyone who has helped with this process. Now we just need the weather to clear and everything to dry so we can really make the most of the playground.
Yesterday we had our first school assembly in the hall in almost a year. It was wonderful to have everyone together and to be able to celebrate some of the fantastic learning that has being going on across our school. At this stage, the BOT has decided to keep our assemblies closed to parents, but we hope to invite our parents in later in the term.
Term 3 is going to be another busy one, and we look forward to sharing some of the wonderful learning we do here at BPS.
Kā mihi nui,
Vicki Neave
Clued Up Kids!
On Wednesday our Year 6 students had the opportunity to go across to the Rec Centre to participate in the Clued Up Kids day. They learned about how to be safe in a number of situations. These included fire safety, bike safety, gun safety and what to do in an earthquake.
Board of Trustees Elections - 7 September 2022 Election Day
The school electoral roll is available to view on request at the school office, during normal school hours.
Nominations are open until next Wednesday, 3 August at 12noon. There are 5 positions. If we receive more than 5 nominations, we will have a postal election - this is where voting forms will be posted to all our parents/caregivers who are on our electoral roll.
We will update all nominees and our community (via our app, website and email) as soon as possible on Wednesday following the closing of nominations at 12noon.
A nomination form is able to be downloaded from this newsletter (see link), or from our website, or just ask for one from the school office.
