Math Interventions
Getting Your Grade K-3 Students Engaged in Math
Move Your Struggling K-3 Students forward with Engaging & Practical Interventions
Workshop Description & Overview
Date: November 7, 2018
Time: 8:30am -3:30pm
Location: Ohio Northern University, McIntosh Center, 402 West College, Ada, OH 45810
Target Audience: Teachers, Intervention Specialists, and other educators supporting math instruction at grades K-3.
Overview:
Teachers need to use multiple ways and reasons to provide a classroom where students understand mathematical concepts at their instructional level. We will explore math literature aligned to standards with ways to engage your students during their math intervention time. Authors include Marilyn Burns, Greg Tang, Stuart Murphy, Cindy Neuschwander and more. Modeling, interactive/engaging strategies, literature connections, and differentiated resources will provide teachers tools to use in their classroom to empower student learning.
Provided in this Session:
This session will provide you with many ways to challenge and support students in math instruction. You will receive math materials/manipulatives (tangrams, dice, cards, dominoes, journal, foldables) to use with your students and a math literature book.
Forget the paper and drills that make their eyelids droop and add tools to your repertoire to create an atmosphere for productive learners.
