MAP Testing
This week students will complete the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) test in their Math and Language Arts classes. MAP Testing is completed 3 times per year (August, December, and May). Assessment results are used to measures students' academic growth throughout the year, and to inform instructional planning decisions. Results of the Fall tests will be shared with families at Parent Teacher Conferences.

Walking Home Reminders:
We love that so many of our students get to enjoy the fresh air and walk or ride their bikes home from school! However, we need to remember that we want to be good, safe neighbors to the people who live and travel around our school. When you are walking or riding your bike home from school, please remember to...
- Be respectful of people's property. Walk on the sidewalks, not in yards. If you have trash, wait until you find a proper place to dispose of it. Leave people's yards and homes alone.
- Use the crosswalks to cross streets. Be sure to look out for traffic, and do not walk out in front of or into it. Again, stay on the sidewalks and don't walk in the street other than to cross at a clear crosswalk.
- Remember that you represent Plano Middle School! Your words and actions determine how people think of you, the children of Plano, and of Plano Middle School. BE RESPECTFUL AND KIND WITH YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS! Even when you think there's nobody around to notice what is going on, there likely is.
- At Route 34, use the crosswalk with the crossing guards, and follow their instructions. They're there to ensure that you can cross 34 safely and to help you.
Thanks for helping us be good neighbors, show our community how great you are, and for representing our school in the right ways!

Informational Reminders
How and Where do I check my students Grades?
Schoology is used as our active gradebook. To check your student's grades on a daily or weekly basis make sure you have an active Schoology account and have access to see your student's classes, assignments and grades. PowerSchool gradebook is updated for mid term and end of term grade reporting, but it is not the go to to check in on daily progress. If you do not have a Schoology account see the links below to set one up. When setting up your account if you need an access code please email your students Advisory teacher for the code or call the main office.
If your student is absent due to illness or other reasons:
To stay up to date with class work, students should check Schoology pages daily to access assignments, lessons, and activities during their absence. Contact teachers directly via email with any questions related to school work.
