The Weekly Highlander

We have made it to the end of state testing and we are excited to start wrapping up the school year. Next week includes May 10th, a homework free evening, to support additional time for family activities. We still have a few more school events including the 20% project evening for Ms.Moffat and Mr.Hollingshead's students on May 17th and the after school talent show on May 19th. The week of May 22nd kicks off with our 8th grade trip to California Adventure and concludes with promotion on May 25th and the promotion party on May 26th.

We hope you and your students find meaningful ways in the days and weeks ahead to engage in the Hewes Community!

In an effort to create PDF Time (Playtime, Downtime, and Family Time) Hewes will be holding monthly Homework Free Nights. Our next homework-free night is Wednesday, May 10. Please use this time to do something as a family 🙂 Please see the attached article from Challenge Success regarding strategies for promoting teen health and well-being using PDF.

Thank you to Coach Visser for writing the TPSF grant that got our school jerseys funded this year. We are so excited they have arrived before Volleyball City Finals!

Parents of 7th-grade students were emailed this week with preview information for the Human Development Unit that will be delivered in 7th-grade science from May 22nd - May 26th. In order to access the materials that will be used, please review the documents that were sent via ParentSquare. If you are unable to access or view this information, please contact your school administrator Lisa Swain at lswain@tustin.k12.ca.us for assistance.

Please enter your volunteer hours this year for Hewes PTA or any Hewes related events. This helps us keep our non profit status. You may make as many entries as necessary or in one lump sum.
