Thank you all for the smooth ELA testing week, even in the midst of plumbing challenges! This week we will be conducting Make-Up exams for ELA and preparing for the math exam. In preparation for math testing, please plan for the following:
- Building confidence and positive energy around the math exam through celebration review of content scholars are confident with
- Reviewing testing strategies
- Utilizing tools like the formula sheets and calculators
Upcoming PSSA Dates:
- Monday & Tuesday April 29th and 30th: Math
- Wednesday & Thursday May 1st and 2nd: Science (4th & 8th only)
Announcements!
Please submit any May Calendar dates to Principal Tyler by 8am on Tuesday morning.
•National Honor Society Toy Drive has been extended until May 3rd. Please get your scholars excited to help! Community service is not only a great way to give back but also to put into perspective what we can be grateful for, so please encourage your scholars and their families to donate small items that can fit in a shoe size toy box. See the flyer in the gazette for ideas. #EngageInChange
•It’s National Scholar Leadership week! Scholars in the National Honor societies and Student Council are being celebrated for their leadership and all they bring to the school environment. This week we have some special panels for them to participate in, a list of scholars who are invited will be sent to you so you know who will be out of class for a period of time.
~A poll will be going out for scholars to fill out. K-2 can do it as a class and we are asking 3-8 to fill out individually if possible about a problem facing our school community so that our scholar leadership groups can start problem solving about ways to combat it.
~We are also challenging staff to participate in our #CaughtLeading challenge. When you see scholars showing leadership skills write their name on the paper that will be handed out. Turn it in at the end of the week and scholars will be entered in a drawing to win 45 Booker Bucks and be featured in our Taking Charge Campaign!
