A message from the Principal
Hamilton Community, We are closing out the 1st quarter this week. The campus has been very busy and has made the semester seem to go very fast. The HHS community has a lot to celebrate including the successful events of homecoming the past week. Even as Hamilton students keep busy with involvement in clubs, activities, and athletics, they are excelling in the classroom. The success of the first semester has me anxious to see what can be accomplished in the next quarter of school.

Students participate in Mock Elections
More than 1800 students participated in a mock election this past week. All seniors had the opportunity to cast their ballot at the actual Maricopa County voting booth and put their ballot into the official voting machinery. The county will have results from the voting on Monday. All social studies students in freshman, sophomore and junior classes voted in their classroom and"mailed in" their votes to the election room where they were processed through the machine. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to have some authentic Civic education and increase their likelihood of voting when they turn 18. Student workers also assembled the booths and ran all of the processing. Special thanks to the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education for helping sponsor the event.

Mindfulness Center Launches at HHS
"The Social Work team is proud to launch a Mindfulness Center at Hamilton High School! The Mindfulness program will support the emotional and mental health needs of students. Mindfulness is about having your mind be fully attentive to what is happening at the present instead of getting stuck in the past and worrying about the future. Students will learn meditation and relaxation techniques to help with everyday stressors teens face in today’s fast pace world.”
